Compensating Big Black Truck Owner Tries to Bully Cyclist in Construction Zone. Illegal Pass, Harassment, Agressive Driving
26 Mar, 2020 - 6 years ago - on Ridgegate Parkway Was entering a construction zone where the road narrowed. The zone had a 30 mph speed limit and I was doing approximately 20 mph. All other vehicles except the driver in the big black truck gave me plenty of room and waited until it was safe to pass. The driver of this truck, however, waited until they were right behind me, leaned on their horn, and drove within a foot of me breaking multiple laws in Colorado including reckless driving, aggressive driving, harassing a cyclist, our 3-foot law, and others. Unfortunately, the vehicle did not have a front plate other than the dealer advertisement and the rear plate was unreadable due to it being covered in mud. Had I not been an experienced cyclist this could have ended in disaster as a less experienced cyclist could well have panicked, tried to move further to the right, hit the curb, and fallen under the truck's wheels.
