Intentional close pass at speed
6 Jun, 2020 - 6 years ago - on Ellar Ghyll Waste Sorting Site The driver clearly had plenty of time to see me, there was nothing on the opposite side of the road to prevent the driver from moving out more and giving me the requisite space. Even though it can be clearly seen that there is a lot of debris in the gutter from the rain and wind we've been having and I am avoiding riding through this, I am still considerately positioned quite hard over to the left of the lane.
Police comments:
"It is without doubt too close and I am keen to arrange for a colleague to attend the register keepers address for the vehicle with view of speaking to the drive and offering some stern words of advice as well as pointing them in the direction of some driver educational material to help them realise the reasons behind the issues of passing so close.
I hope this is a result you will be happy with and can take comfort in knowing that another motorist has been educated thus making the roads of west Yorkshire a little bit safer for cyclists.".
