Tailgater tried to pass on right

It was not safe to pull over to the right with the driveway and parked cars where the red car driver wanted me to. I had to monitor how close they were getting behind me and watch for people getting out of their cars and exiting the parking lot on my right. But just after that, where the road narrows before going underneath the train tracks (where I had planned to pull over to the right to let them pass) they attempted to pass me on the right. California law says when there is no bike lane to stay as far right as practicable, which means safe, not as far right as possible. I don't have to ride in the door zone to appease an impatient driver and neither should you.
