You think you’d be safe from drivers on a bike path – but you’d be wrong

Every weekend in the mornings, the streets around the Birkenhead shopping centre become gridlocked. I've counted regularly 50+ tailed back along this section of road leading to the shops. Every now and then, a frustrated driver will give up and do a U turn to escape the madness. Problem is, when they turn, they are only looking at cars coming towards them - they aren't bothering to look at the adjacent path to see if there is anyone walking or cycling on it.
